The Vue

If the Vue aren’t the best rock ‘n roll band ever, I’m a Dutchman" – Ruud van Nistelrooy.

How long will you play for?

That really depends on you.  Usually we play two sets, the first lasting 30-45 minutes and the second from an hour to an hour and a half.  But we could do just the one or as many as four sets.
We are worried you may be too loud.
That won’t be a problem.  We can adjust our volume to suit the occasion.  We use top quality professional PA gear.  The better the quality of sound, the less loud it appears.  Also we can do an acoustic first set which enables people to chat quite easily before the serious dancing ensues.
What about lighting?
We want to look good as well as sound good.  If there is stage lighting at the venue, all well and good.  If not, we will bring our own.

Do you do requests?
Not usually – unless it happens to be for one of the numbers we have recently rehearsed.  We take great care in arranging each song and won’t play anything unless we feel it is “just right”.

Do you just play sixties music?
No.  Most of our numbers are from the sixties but take a look at the numbers we do and you will see several from the seventies, eighties and nineties.  We are however unashamedly a sixties-based band.  Not for us “jack of all trades and masters of none”.
What about audience participation?
We are not a karaoke band.  But, we do have some participation numbers – so if you fancy yourself as a backing singer you could be in luck.
Do we need to book a disco as well?
No.  We will play recorded music in the gaps between sets if required.  Frankly, we prefer it if you save yourself some cash and don’t have a disco.  But we can work along side a disco quite happily.
What age groups do you play for?
Anyone and any age.  As long as they like the Beatles!

Did you really sack Eric Clapton?
Yes.  Sadly Eric became unreliable after he had another relapse into alcoholism whilst living in Swinton
